Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SnapNinja website, cloud service, and legacy desktop application (together, the "Service"), operated by SnapNinja ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, starting a trial, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Please read Sections 4 (Acceptable Use), 6 (Billing & Refunds), and 8 (Third-Party Platforms) carefully — they contain the obligations and limitations most likely to matter to you.

1. What the Service Is

SnapNinja is a personal archiving tool. At your direction, it connects to your own Snapchat account and saves copies of media from that account — snaps and chats sent to you, and content you can otherwise access — into a private cloud gallery that only you can see. The website also offers free tools for viewing and downloading publicly available Snapchat content (such as public stories and profile pictures).

SnapNinja is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. "Snapchat" is a trademark of Snap Inc., used here only to describe compatibility.

2. Eligibility & Your Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a subscription, and at least 13 to use the Service at all.
  • You must sign in with a valid Google account and provide accurate information.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.
  • One Snapchat account may be connected per subscription.

3. Your Snapchat Account

  • You may only connect a Snapchat account that belongs to you. Connecting someone else's account without their authorization is prohibited and may be illegal.
  • By connecting, you authorize SnapNinja to sign in to Snapchat on your behalf and to access and save media available to your account, at your direction. Your credentials are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Snapchat may occasionally ask you to verify a new sign-in (for example, approving it in the Snapchat app). The Service will guide you through these steps when they occur.
  • Risk acknowledgment: Automated access to your Snapchat account is not endorsed by Snap Inc. and may be inconsistent with Snapchat's own terms of service. While the Service is designed to connect the same way an ordinary login does, you use SnapNinja with your Snapchat account at your own discretion and risk, including any consequences to that account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal purposes. You must not:

  1. Save, store, or distribute content you do not have the right to keep — including commercial redistribution of someone else's copyrighted work;
  2. Use the Service to harass, stalk, intimidate, extort, or harm any person, or to violate anyone's privacy rights — including capturing or distributing intimate content of a person without their consent;
  3. Upload, save, or transmit any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors. We have zero tolerance for this. We will terminate the account, preserve evidence, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law;
  4. Connect a Snapchat account you do not own or lack authorization to use;
  5. Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties, or use it to operate a competing service;
  6. Probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  7. Use the free public tools to scrape at abusive volume or for any unlawful purpose.

Content saved through the Service is private to your gallery. You remain solely responsible for what you choose to save and for what you do with it after saving. Saving content that another person created does not give you ownership of it or any right to republish it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, and remove content as described in our DMCA Policy.

5. Plans, Trial & Save Allowances

  • $1 Trial: New subscribers on the monthly plan can start with a 3-day trial for a one-time charge of $1. The trial includes 5 private saves. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to the monthly plan at $29.99/month at the end of the 3 days. The trial is available once per customer and requires a valid payment method.
  • Monthly plan: $29.99 per month.
  • Annual plan: $199 per year (billed once; no trial — service starts immediately).
  • Save allowance: Paid plans include 100 private saves per monthly billing cycle (saves of snaps and chats from friends). Unused allowance does not roll over. Downloads of publicly available content via the free tools are free and do not count against your allowance.
  • Credit packs: Additional saves are available as one-time packs ($4.99 for 50, $9.99 for 150, $19.99 for 400). Credits never expire and are consumed only after your cycle allowance is used up. Credits are usable only while you have an active subscription.
  • Auto-sync: Subscriber accounts sync automatically at regular intervals (currently about every 6 hours).
  • Capacity: Service capacity is limited. If no capacity is available, we will offer you a waitlist instead of charging you — we do not start trials or subscriptions we cannot serve.

We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

6. Billing, Cancellation & Refunds

  • Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method via Stripe, our payment processor.
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime from your account page (Manage Billing) or by emailing support@snapninja.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
  • Refunds: Because the Service is digital and begins immediately, payments — including the $1 trial fee — are non-refundable, except where required by law or as described in Section 9 (Service Discontinuation). We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused save allowance, or unused credit packs.
  • Trial conversion: It is your responsibility to cancel before the trial ends if you do not want to be charged for the monthly plan. We send a reminder email before conversion as a courtesy.
  • Failed payments: If a renewal charge fails, we may retry it and notify you. Access may be suspended until payment succeeds.
  • Chargebacks: Contact support before initiating a chargeback. We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks on valid charges with evidence of your agreement to these Terms and your usage, and to terminate accounts that abuse the chargeback process.

7. Legacy Desktop Licenses

Customers who previously purchased a lifetime license for the SnapNinja desktop application retain that license under the terms in effect at purchase: the desktop application remains available to them for as long as it remains functional, with "lifetime" referring to the lifetime of that product. Legacy desktop licenses, legacy subscriptions, and legacy save credits do not convert into cloud subscriptions or cloud save credits. The desktop application is no longer sold to new customers.

8. Third-Party Platforms & Service Availability

The Service depends on the technical behavior of third-party platforms — primarily Snapchat — that we do not control.

  • Snapchat may change its platform at any time in ways that degrade or break the Service, temporarily or permanently.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted functionality and are not obligated to provide refunds for outages caused by third-party platform changes, beyond your right to cancel future renewals at any time.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. For material reductions in functionality, we will provide notice where practical.

9. Service Discontinuation

If the Service is permanently discontinued (for example, due to platform changes, legal requirements, or business closure):

  1. All active subscriptions will be canceled and no further charges processed;
  2. We will notify active subscribers by email and provide a reasonable window to download saved media from their galleries before deletion;
  3. Subscribers may request a prorated refund of the unused portion of their current billing period by responding to the discontinuation notice.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service — its software, design, and content we created — is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes while your account is in good standing.

You retain whatever rights you have in content saved to your gallery. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content to you — solely to operate the Service.

Copyright concerns about content available through the Service are handled under our DMCA Policy.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH FUTURE CHANGES TO THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS TO THIRD-PARTY ACCOUNTS, OR LOSS OF PROFITS. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party — including copyright and privacy rights — in connection with content you save or how you use it; and (c) any suspension, ban, or termination of your third-party accounts (including Snapchat) resulting from your use of the Service.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for violation of these Terms (including Section 4), suspected fraud or abuse, or where required by law. Upon termination for violation, no refunds are due. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 10–13 and 16) survive termination.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here and update the date above; for material changes we will notify active subscribers by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
